SCRUPULOUS INNOVATOR: THE OTHER SIDE OF YOUR STORY

For every product there is a purpose, however such purpose is never restricted to the producer but the purchaser being the final and ultimate consumer. In other words you choose what to do with whatever you get, even going as far as working outside the producer prescriptions. For instance, you just purchase a mini computer (laptop) with a bag specially built for moving the PC from place to place along the line you were to embark on a short trip and needed to go with few of your things and then you went for your PC bag, Originally it was not built for such purpose.

Abuse of purpose? No, it’s simply purpose redefined. By implication, there is always an ‘Other Side of Everything’ and in most cases they come as opportunities.

Come to think of it, have you ever come to realize that the very fear of man ‘death’ has its own very good side? It is called ‘life’. Oh! It has never dawn on you that its far more than failure, Success has its place just at the other side. No matter how bad, it can always be replaced by Good, the very way Originality can replace fake.

DEALING WITH THE NEGATIVES

For as bad as your story has been, it can be as good as you want it to be.

Life at the College has given me the chance to speak with and learn from different personalities who have had different stories to tell. During one of such time, I met a lady who said, “Ola, rather than letting those bad moments dictates for me, I have always dictated for them and I have always tune them to my taste and after every time I always come out smiling”. What a lady, what a way of redefining moments, what a way of overturning sides, what a way of dealing with negatives. Just as Willie Nelson has said; "Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results".

Where there is no purpose, abuse is inevitable, the very primary purpose of most of the negatives you can think of is to bring down souls either emotionally or physically and put a stop to every progress, if not permanently but for a very long time. However, only those who are able to deal with the negatives have at the long run emerge as over comers, for where there is a casting down there shall be a lifting up.

As much as there is failure to weaken the soul from trying again, there is an opportunity to turn them to strength, an opportunity to learn from it, an opportunity to try again, an opportunity to redefine and an opportunity to create a success story.

You are not yet a failure until you stop trying, until you allow failure dictate for you and until you are so weakened by it.

I have been opportune to discuss with guys and girls from various colleges in Nigeria and I have had to listen to various complains about the situation of their various institutions, faculties and course of studies. Majority of this complains pin points to the failure of the institutions, but alas, only few of these complainants can see beyond the failure of the institutions. The failure have so limit this young men and ladies from making success in their various institutions but few have overturn stones and have been able to deal well with this negative and make success out of it. According to the few, it has never been what your Institution can do for you and with you but what you can do for your Institution and with your institution.

A brief discussion with a law student who has in most cases represented his institution in various moots and competitions and during which course he had secured for himself a scholarship, here is what he has to say;

“I started with a colleague of mine by writing and submitting memorials/briefs online because we were not buoyant to journey to the various competition center most of which were outside the country. Sponsors was not coming from the Institution either but that was just a challenge that kept us going rather than pulling us back, as God would have it, a lecturer from our faculty saw our commitments , he agreed to bear some of our travelling expenses as we tour Africa and other countries like China representing the school in moots and debates competitions. I have no regret today as my colleague already has a job in a top firm despite the fact that we are yet to proceed to our law school, I am a scholarship holder and I have a job secured pending when I finish my Law school”.

Paramahansa Yogananda once said “The season of failure is the best time for sowing the seeds of success”. I put it like this ‘the atmosphere of failure is the best place or time to take a breath of success'.

Make good use of whatever circumstances you find yourself. Remember, there is always the other side. Rather than complaining of your shortcomings why not tune them to your taste and get satisfactions from them.

WHY WORRY?

Worry is, sadly, an inevitability of life. Bad things are bound to happen, and the natural human reaction is to think about the negative consequences that could potentially arise.
However, worry is rarely productive -- "it's something we do over and over again, without much resolution, and it's typically of the worst-case scenario of the future. _Huff Post

Some of the habits of persons who never worry are;

· They have confidence, they can handle whatever comes at them. As such,
· They have the ability to see positive outcomes in seemingly bleak situations because;
· They know how to perceive their negative emotions.

So many times we spend more time meditating wrongly (worry) than we react. Rather than focusing on the present we get bogged down by things that are yet to happen, thinking of most likely worst scenarios.

This I see as a weight that can vary the rate of speed at which we journey. More beyond speed, your worries are weights that can deprive you of the required strength.
Just like the biblical instruction in HEBREWS 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.___ New Living Translation

Why not lay aside your worries and run the race of success with ease and liberty.

As a matter of fact you have all its takes to turn your fears to courage, weakness to strength, pain to joy, failure to success, rejection to acceptance, hate to love and death to life.

Look out for and at the other side of your adversaries

Work with and out your Negativity and turn them around

Lay aside your worries.
